A 2019 block of the month sew along for the Greenville Modern Quilt Guild. Everyone is welcome to participate.
Welcome to my first sew along!
This isn’t an ordinary block of the month. I want you to give yourself permission to test and play. To make something that fits your tastes and style. Yes, to even make mistakes.
I have designed a series of 10 blocks that will be released the first Saturday from Jan-October 2019. In November, I’ll include downloadable instructions for using your blocks with two possible settings (sneak peek below) so you can create a finished quilt. Each block and quilt setting will come with fabric requirements, directions for cutting, sewing and tips to help you along the way.
Permit(ssion) to Test. To encourage you to play and create each month I will include coloring pages so you can to change color placement and to make the blocks your own.
Throughout the month, I am going to add block and quilt studies to my blog. These studies will explore how we can push the design of that block to create something different. What happens when you use the single block in new and unique ways to create alternate quilt layouts and different colorations. As we progress, I plan to use what we learn from various speakers at our Greenville Modern Quilt Guild Meetings to push me through my creative journey. The quilt possibilities are endless.
So, come join the fun and be sure to share on Instagram. Use these tags so we can all follow the fun! @travlis @GreenvilleMQG #licensedtoquilt
